Qatar stadiums trail
Let's start with the surface. 11,586 square kilometers - this is the area of Qatar. In Poland, it is the closest to the second smallest voivodship in Poland - Świętokrzyskie (11,711 sq km). However, Qatar is more than twice as populous - it has over 2.9 million inhabitants - here it is more like Lower Silesia (woj. dolnośląskie).
The Qataris has spend approximately 4.5 billion USD on the construction of stadiums - for comparison: National Stadium in Warsaw built for Euro 2012 cost "only" about 2 billion PLN. Of course, the tragic balance of human lives is incomparable - over 6.5 thousand people died building World Cup infrastructure in Qatar - workers mainly from Asia.
