'LosLohBros' is the moniker adopted by Austrian artists and brothers, Tom and Andy Lohner, and Spin That Record is the result of their latest series of collaborations. Coming from a very musical background and having played in several bands and on numerous stages since their youth, Tom and Andy believe that the aural and visual arts are closely connected and that each is inspired by the other. Whether it is album artwork or a seemingly unrelated illustration, Andy and Tom have always worked best to a soundtrack.
“During the creative process, we can rarely get an image quite right without music. As music so heavily influences our work, we decided to start dedicating pieces of art to what we listen to.”
A hand-painted drum kit will form the centrepiece of the exhibition, surrounded by five specially commissioned headphones and twenty 12” vinyl records, all of which have been beautifully transformed with acrylics and collages. Every element making up Spin That Record is a personal reflection of the images perceived by Tom and Andy when listening to particular songs.
