Excoriation refers to the compulsive act of peeling and biting small bits of skin off of your own body.
Scratching, searching for the spot that will release pain and endorphins.
Under the table, around your nail beds, under cover, a human ritual.
Shedding associations in the human brain are dark, scary. We don't want to think of losing our skin, our largest organ, our closest and oldest friend. This costume that defines so much for us in life.
As a chronic and masochistic skin picker, I want to replicate a self inflicted molting process on the human body.
