Protestas en Perù

In December 2002 in Peru there was an attempted coup d'état by now ex President Pedro Castillo who gave a speech to the nation in which he ordered the dissolution of Congress (the Peruvian parliament), the establishment of a "government of exception" and a curfew throughout the country.
The protests, in which thousands of demonstrators demanded the release of former president Pedro Castillo, now in prison, have spread throughout the country.
The protesters also demanded the resignation of the new president, Dina Boluarte, Castillo's deputy, and the calling of new elections.
The protests were particularly well attended in rural areas and in the south, where Castillo has good support.
At least 40 people have been killed.

These pictures have been taken in Cusco (11 december 2022) and in Checacupe (13 december 2022).
