ILLUSTRATIONS 2022
This years pick of the best illustrations achieved during the working year of 2022. All have been achieved in Photoshop, using my iMac and Cintiq set-up. Under the illustrations are links to the speed renders to show how the artworks were achieved.
Don't forget to follow my YouTube channel for more speed renders: https://www.youtube.com/@robartillustration
At the start of the year I had a lot of requests to do famous celebrities. This is one of them, and was the most requested, due to his illegal invasion of Ukraine. Here is Putin showing a deaf ear to his critics.
The second caricature celebrity requested at the start of the year was Elon Musk. Most of these were for NFTs. Something I try not to do a lot of, unless I have full control of the artwork.
An interesting commission for a buyer who wanted to do an adaptation of the Lion King scene of the father taking in the clouds, but to replace it with a turtle, and include several other elements.
The second Putin caricature, requested just after the start of the war. This was commissioned by a US firm who wanted it to support Ukraine and fundraise. I wont disclose what the image was used for.
Another celebrity caricature, this time of Donald T***P! I really liked this outcome of the black and white, which was done from a great reference image.
Really liked this little celebrity caricature of Charles Barkley, doing his famous dribbling.
Another Putin caricature, showing the negative aspects of his power status and war in the independent Ukraine.
Illustration created for a fellow designer who was asked by a riding club to design an illustration of the biking club, in the form of their team nicknames (all animals).
One of two illustration caricatures done for a realtor in the US. This version has the team together, in a clever use of scale to include the subject of their work.
Caricature portrait commissioned by a psychiatrist, who wanted to have an internet presence and persona.
Caricature portrait of a balloon merchant who wanted something a little different.
After several years of having male hero characters to advertise their safety wear, GSS asked me to render out a female hero to accompany the visualisation team.
A homage illustration rendering of a US client whose friend passed. And as a tribute wanted to show him in his preferred environments. It is a reconstruction of a vintage Miller advertisement, with the inclusion of the deceased friend enjoying his favourite beer.
Nice commission, in a slightly different style, used as a cover for a book to endorse financial stock market tactics.
Logo caricature design made for Danish comedic duo. The caricatures were done in full, but later had the logo aspect placed over the lower portions to represent their brand.
Personal project to do some rendering exercises in caricature work. This is the well-known Jimi Hendrix.
Private commission for a friend's birthday gift. A study of his favourite author, Edgar Allen Poe.
Commission for a language school in Greece, who want dot use Einstein as a motif to show the development of genius in their learning program.
one of the regular commissions I get around December, to do the cover of the New Scientist magazine for their bumper festive season edition.
A personal caricature design developed for the upcoming Graphics Stories Cyprus 09 conference presentation. One of eight caricatures showing aspects of freelance work.
One of my Animal Behaviour illustrations; Extinction.
A variation of my well-known Celebrity Sunday caricature series, This is a twist of the author Stephen King, as Pennywise.
