THE MYSTIC ANGEL:

As a part of my school project, I was tasked to creatively edit any royalty-free image I find online using Adobe Photoshop. The original image consisted of a young girl carrying a small grey bunny. I decided to create a mash-up of images that would transform the girl into an angel and place her against a scenic background.

To achieve this, I used a variety of Adobe Photoshop tools. Several elements such as clouds, flowers, butterflies and so on were added to the original image. The transform features such as resize, rotation and flip were used to create movement within the artwork. To separate key objects from their backgrounds, I utilised layer masks and selection tools. Images also had to be resized with relevance to the elements’ hierarchy of importance. To create a seamless combination of the photos, I utilised blending modes such as multiply, lighten and screen.

Additionally, I utilised adjustment layers, including Hue/Saturation and Brightness/Contrast. To warp images and apply effects to specific layers, clipping masks were used. The background consists of a blend between a sea coast and a starry night. I also incorporated a colour lookup table filter to enhance the vibrance of the sky.

THE ADVENTURE ZOMBIE:

Using blend modes and Photoshop tool, I modified an original image of a woman to turn her into a zombie. I also added the image of a forest as a background and worked on basic text editing. This exercise gave me a good grasp of layers and image editing.
