Spring's Cherry Blossoms

Spring's Cherry Blossoms
This is a recreated image of the Washington Monument across the lake with a close perspective of bright cherry blossoms. Regarding materials, the lake is a printed material while the monument, the background sky, and the cherry blossoms are created with the use of colored paper.
First off, the background sky needed to be made. Doing so included white poster paper with two different colored paper shades of blue and a white paper.
Next, I glued the first layer of the sky with the darkest shade of blue colored paper. Using scissors, I then cut and glued the second shade of blue colored paper over the first layer in a semi-circular angle and followed up with a small 3rd layer of white paper.  Afterwards, I printed an image of a forest lake and applied it over the other half of the poster board, connecting it with the colored paper sky.
The cherry blossom flowers were now ready to be applied.  For the first layer of the cherry blossoms, I applied the lightest shade of pink colored paper to the collage by cutting out various sizes of flower-shaped pieces using an exacto knife and gluing them around the collage's edges.
After the first layer, I then used a darker shade of pink colored paper to apply the next layer of the cherry blossoms onto the collage using the same method as the first layer, but using smaller shapes.
Lastly, I used black colored paper to apply the final layer for the cherry blossom collage.  I cut out a few small circular shapes to apply onto the cherry blossom flowers and cut out various sizes of branches to connect each of them. For the final touch, I cut out a small triangular shape of the Washington Monument and glued it to the center of the collage.
