PERSEUS
80s Remix Project
For this project I wanted to take the 80s IP of Clash of the Titans and change it into a game prototype.
First off I wanted to look into the games that I wanted to base my game off of with the main style and genre I wanted.
Next up on the agenda was to set my visual style for the game and I wanted to set a low poly 3d style similar to the work of Imphenzia and work I had done prior. So I decided to model Bubo a character that would appear in the game in my style as he would have been the easiest out of all of the characters to model.
Next up was doing the concept art for the main characters that would be in my prototype first off is the obvious Perseus being the main character so I sketched him out giving him boots based off his mythological counterpart and a toga for his film version, I also gave him a shield based off of my own design.
These are some quick renders of my Medusa model in some of its animation you have an Idle, Gaze, Slash, Slither and Tail Slap. For Medusa I wanted to keep mythological with the snake hair each individually articulated, the skin colour is a light green to keep the overall green colour palette, and I gave her a sword based off of the Man-Serpents from Darks Souls
Next up was to model Perseus which would use the same armature as the paladin placeholder I had been using prior so he had to have similar proportions including having fingers and a sword and shield. The sword was based off of Perseus' Divine Sword from both mythos and the film.
This is the basic gameplay that I had done in Unity for my pitch in which I had collisions done, hit detection and health set up in the game.
The next target for my game was to model the arena in which you would fight Medusa.
