This textile work was a really big risk for me to take because I had never knitted and I only had two weeks to learn how. Through my process of learning to knit, I struggled and I had to restart different sections many times; But, as we know, iteration is how we get to our best work. I have my very first knitted shape (the banana shaped handle) attached to this work as well, which goes to show the improvement I made during my time with this project. This piece was very out of the box for me, but I am so proud of it and it's use of design principles too.  I incorporated different stitches and patterns to add variety to my work. There is an asymmetrical balance that leads the eye across the composition, and the large white square gives the eye a place to rest on.
