Looking for your next hiking spot? Well, I would advise against the Paper Islands below, where each "layer" represents a steep change of 500m. To map these inhospitable versions of otherwise wonderful places, I gathered imagery from the USGS; retrieved and enhanced geographic data using QGIS/Illustrator/Blender; and made final adjustments in Photoshop.
