Step 1: Prepare Your Canon Printer To Scan

First, ensure that your Canon printer can scan.
Usually, all-in-one printers can scan, and many other Canon printers can also scan. However, you may have to check the printer’s documentation and product page to see the printer’s ability.
Connect your printer to your computer. The printers with scanning functions can also connect wirelessly via a touch-screen panel.
Also, you need to connect your printer to your system via a USB cable.
After that, download & install the printer drivers and utilities.
If your printer has a CD/DVD, you can use that to install drivers for your printer. The drivers also have IJ scan Utility that you can use to scan documents.
Now, turn on your printer. To do this, press the printer’s “On” button.
Confirm that it’s connected to a working power source if it doesn’t turn on.
Open the scanner. Lift the scanner’s lid, and you should see the glass bottom.
Place your document face down in the scanner. The document should be aligned with the top and left sides of the glass.
To place, look for the arrow in the back-left corner and set the document with that arrow.
Lastly, close the scanner lid. Ensure that it is closed before you start scanning.

Ensure that the document is aligned with the arrow in the back left corner of the glass scanner.
Then, click “Scan“when ready to scan the next page.
Lastly, click “Exit.” After scanning every page of your document, click on “Exit.”
