While it's convenient to blame the external environment for causing a sense of suffocation and helpless in this fast paced society, sometimes, we only have ourselves to fault for our own emotions. After all, they are our emotions and shouldn't we have control over it? On the other hand, how much control can we really exercise?

 

"Suffocation: State of Mind" is my way of reflecting upon my own emotions and the conflict of my thoughts and society. While a lot of time, I feel oppressed because of the culture here in Singapore, I owe it to myself for these feelings. Like a suicidal man seeking his own demise, only I have the ability to stop my own suffocations. 

 

I cannot choose where and how I was born, but nothing can stop me from choosing how I want to live, and how I want to die.
