Senior year, 2023
This was a special piece for me to work on since I have a strong bond with my mother. It was created from a photo I look of us holding up our hands to make a heart. The bright colors in the photo filter radiate a positive theme of love and support. In addition, the vibrant colors represent the special relationship we have with each other.
The pastel pencils allowed me to work on shading with this medium, which was something I didn’t have a lot of experience in. I filled in the heart to draw attention to the unconditional love between us. My mom is someone I can count on, dream with and love with all my heart.
