These are the illustrations for the "Tor des Géants" posters for the past three years. The Tor (tour of giants) is a trail race held in the Aosta Valley (Italy) in September.
It is considered "the toughest trail in the world," and Its route is a loop that measures about 330 km with a total of 24,000 meters of positive elevation gain. I grew up spending many months of my childhood in the Aosta Valley and for me the Tor is a mythical event and it was therefore a great honor to be able to create the posters for the past three years. In each poster I focused on a different moment of the race: the moments before the start, a mid-race instant, and finally, the finish line and rest. I hope you enjoy them. You can find signed and numbered posters on sale here:
Tor des Géants 2023 poster. I have depicted a runner who, upon reaching the summit, decides not to stop and continues higher and higher to the moon.
Tor des Géants 2022 poster. I drew a runner in the moments before the start, symbolically dedicating an important part of the work to the manic preparation of the race. To the doctors, volunteers, and workers who make this event possible by taking care of every detail.
Tor des Géants 2021 poster. I depicted the moment of reaching a mountain pass after an effort, where the character is faced with the sunny panorama of a new valley. I've been mountaineering for years, and one of the things I enjoy most is climbing a slope in the shade.  The sun is not there yet because it is covered by the mountain, but eventually you get to the other ridge and see the new valley in the sunlight.
