MONDEBÜGEL
Mondelbugel is a team conceptual - structural design project, by me and my former teammate Benedikt Schambeck. The main idea - Mondebugel (Hanging moons) as new structural contemporary interpretation of El. Lissytzky's Wolkenbugel in Moscow (Hanging clouds) proposed 1923.
The monumentality and floateness of Wolkenbügel, the great scale of Vladimir Tatlin's monument to the third international and the complexity of tensegrity system were the major inspirations. We merged those inspirations and eventually came up with unique 160 meter height structure Mondebügel - three moons hanged across the Wien river. Take a look at the Hanging clouds located in the center of Vienna next to the Danube canal.
