I am in love with Celtic Knot work and symbolism. It has always been something that interested me and I was excited to have an excuse to really embrace it when I married into a Scottish name.

This piece was designed to represent Family, Love, Friendship and Loyalty. Incorporate in the intricate patterns and design are many pieces of Celtic symbolism. 

The Tree of life - A symbol of strength, longevity and wisdom. For the ancient Celts, the Tree of Life symbolizes balance and harmony. Also believed that the tree symbolized rebirth.The Celtic tree of life symbol also clearly shows the link between every root below the ground and every branch above.

The Claddagh Ring - Typically seen as a traditional Irish ring which represents love, loyalty, and friendship (the hands represent friendship, the heart represents love, and the crown represents loyalty). ... The ring, as currently known, was first produced in the 17th century.

The Celtic not - This knot is a complete loop that has no start or finish and could be said to represent eternity whether this means loyalty, faith, friendship or love. 

This is a relief print carved into lino. Each print is unique and printed in a limited edition of 40. The prints are marked with a V.E. to represent a varied edition. Size is 14" x 22". The ones shown here are printed on white Kozuke Japanese paper with warm black ink. Also available on heavier white Arnhem paper with Black ink.

Print comes in a mailing tube (Kozuke) or in a protective sleeve (Arnhem) with a rigid backer. Frame is not included.
