Taj Mahal, a marvel of Indian architecture and engineering, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic symbols of India. Commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal stands as a symbol of undying love and devotion. 

Built between 1631-1653 in Agra, it took over 20,000 skilled artisans and labourers to build the structure from white marble mined from Rajasthan. The monument's exquisite design features intricate carvings, calligraphy, precious stones, and stunning gardens that are symmetrically arranged around its central structure. 

Taj Mahal represents the zenith of Mughal architecture with its blend of Persian, Islamic and Indian architectural styles that create an unparalleled aesthetic appeal to visitors. Its significance lies not just in its physical beauty but also for the inspiration it invokes as an enduring symbol of love against all odds.
