With hype for Disney's Frozen at it's peak, it seemed the perfect theme for a design experiment. How would an invitation to Queen Elsa's coronation look if designed and produced in real life?

 

The Norwegian world of Frozen is rich in gorgeous patterns and colors, so rich that it was difficult to settle on what would be on an invitation. I wound up incorporating a few tasteful patterns, striking a balance between the minimally upscale and the nostalgically pattern-heavy. Only the necessary information is present on the single-sided card, including space for the inviters to write the name of the invitees, common to coronation invitations.

Elsa is the regal ice Queen, and I wanted the invitation to show that. The paper is a subtley shimmery cream cardstock and the printing is gold leafed.
