Three groups display Harrison's much admired eye for framing natural scenes.  the group on the left shows his love for the majesty of Alpine mountains - here the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau - and their contrasts of simplicity and complexity.  On the right the group from Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens, Coral Gables, FL shows his stunning use of colour to express the power of lige among tropical plants.  The central group shows his exploration of abstract images drawn from nature.
The Eiger, Moench, and Jungfrau peaks forming the Contniental divide in the Jungfrau region.  The three peaks are all close to 4,000 m and the lowest point in the image is around 1,800  m.  The nearest mountain is some 5 km away and the image shows detail that is normally not visible to the unaided eye.  40x28 inch print.
The Eiger and the Moench in the background and in the foreground the village of Muerren at 1,800 m.  The image is taken from the platform of Birg at 2,500 m.  Between Muerren and the lower slopes of the Jungfrau massif we see the deep, glacial valley of Lauterbrunnen whose floor is another 1,000 m lower.  18x10 inch print.
A complex scene as an overnight snowstorm passes leaving a bright sunny day.  In the foreground the forest below Malerhuebel near Muerren.  In the middle ground the Wenwald to the north of Wenger across the valley.  On on the skyline lie Shynnige Platte to the left, the Faulhorn near the centre, and the Eiger to the right.  18x14 inch print.
A rain storm approaches along the Brienzersee from Interlaken.  Takn from the port of Brienz.  18x14 inch print.
Sun and mist on the slopes of Maennlichen above Grindelwald.  The softness and minimalism of his images contrasts starkly with the three imahes of the Jungfrau massif.  18x14 inch print.
Taken from Maulerhuebel near Muerren, this shows a classic Alpine farm house in the foreground and then across the valley we see Wengalp above Wengen with the peak of the Lauberhorn obscured by cloud.  In the background the Eiger.  18x14 inch print.
Blue - a long exposure image of the East Aspetuck River in New Milford, Connecticut at the home of Gordon Bruce and Sally Andersen.  The image was taken in the early evening in summer and is largely untouched from the camera.  40x28 inch print.
Green - a long exposure image of the East Aspetuck River in New Milford, Connecticut at the home of Gordon Bruce and Sally Andersen.  The image was taken in the afternoon of a spring day and is largely untouched from the camera.  40x28 inch print.
Spring - A short exposure image of the Saugatuck River in Redding, Connecticut on a spring morning.  While Blue is the centrepiece of this group, Spring is also one of my favourites as - to me at least - it really captures the exuberance of spring foliage.  The image is untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
Green and Gold - possibly the first of my reflection studies.  It is taken at Godfrey Pond in the Devil's Den conservation area of Weston, Connecticut on a spring morning.  The green is the reflections of new leaves across the pond and the gold are the dead leaves of the previous year lying on the bottom of the pond.  The image is largely untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
Blue and Gold - a long exposure image of the East Aspetuck River in New Milford, Cnnecticut at the home of Gordon Bruce and Sally Andersen.  The image was taken in the afternoon of an autumn day and is largely untouched from the camera.  40x28 inch print.
Herringbone - reflections of trees in Bridgewater, Connecticut in the Housatonic River at Birch Rocks conservation area in Brookfield, Connecticut on Thanksgiving Day 2012.  The image is largely untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
Pitcairnia Sanguinea - a spectacular example of a fairly common bromeliad at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables, Florida.  The image is untouched from the camera.  40x28 inch print.
Bamboo - one of many types of bamboo at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables, Florida.  The image is untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
Anthurium - surely one of the most erotic plants at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables, Florida.  The image is untouched from the camera.  40x28 inch print.
Banana Palm fronds - a wonderful example of a very common tropical plant - almost a weed - at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables, Florida.  The image is untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
Fan - a wonderful geometric subject backlit at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables, Florida.  The image is untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
PacMen - no doubt there is an important botanical name, but what else should we call these water plants at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables, Florida.  The image is untouched from the camera.  18x14 inch print.
