The concept behind this project is to recreate artistic imageries based on religious inspiration and motifs. Religious art has always been an important aspect of Catholicism/Christianity. Although I am not a believer, I am intrigued by the representation of the belief system, and how the same storyline can be retold and reproduced in varies version. Bringing in my Japanese comic art influence, as well as the idea of shapes and patterns, I have created this distinctly modern twist to a traditionally religious context. In addition, this particular installation allow audiences to imagine their presence in a church setting surrounded by these "fresco" panel-paintings for worship's purpose.
