PERFORMANCE "WE"
"We" is a performance, installation, and art piece created based on artistic experiments with neural networks StyleGAN, dedicated to the new corporeality and enclosed space in which modern man dwells.
The authors: me - Nastya Yatskhey, Andrey Rylov, and Alisa Ustinova.
The performers: Anna Barkalova, Korneliya Nazimova, Ernest Nurgali.

The artists explore concepts such as corporeality, intimacy, consciousness, boundaries, and communication through the prism of computer vision and mathematical algorithms. The neural network does not have spatial boundaries or human life experience, so the way it sees things allows for a new approach to the issue of corporeality and contemplation on intimacy, when it becomes possible to merge with another consciousness beyond one's own corporality.

It was shown in 24 x 24 Gallery in 2021, St. Petersburg, Russia
Set up:
Black textile cube, projections on the wall.

The cube is black. We can see only projections. Then we can see that 2 performers are inside this cube. They try to go out. The cube is made of special textile. So we can see the shape of hands and body, but it's absolutely black.
Then the light(4 light tubes) turns on inside the cube. Now we can see performers. They make research of the space. At the end the light turns off, when it turns on again, the cube is empty.

In the very beginning we thought about white cube but then decided that black one would be much better

Our experiments with StyleGAN

Later we made some adaptations and went to the festivals: Intervals and Nur in 2021
