This project was a live brief for the Derby Book Festival, we had to create bookmarks for this based on the winners of the poem competition, these poems were all completely different but all the designs needed to be cohesive and look like a set.

These were some of my designs which I drew using posca markers on the brown card which I liked more than using white paper as it added a natural tone to the background.

I wanted my designs to be very literal and take the writing at face value so when the second poem mentioned an "Orange Lifeboat" I drew this literally.

All of my designs were tied together using the galaxy swirl to flow across all of them, this made them look interesting as single pieces but also looked effective as a set.

My bookmarks did not win this brief but i learned a lot about how to deal with live situations and what to expect while working with a client.

Overall i was very happy with my outcomes and i got compliments off the competition runners saying they liked my creative way of thinking and called me "Bonkers but a genius".
