CARDBOARD CARPENTER

Some opened, some still taped up. I added multiple elements of a cardboard box to the typeface, an example would be the “fragile” marking, delivery stamp, tapes, carrier holes and the flaps of the cardboard itself. Using the elements of the cardboard boxes, I decided to pair it with the elements of a pet as I wanted to create it for humans but I realised it was more suitable for pets size wise. Therefore, I transformed the typeface into furnitures for pet essentials.

The colours for the cardboard were pretty standard. There is a sense of unity within them as the colours of each letter are the same. Also I made the elements of the pet much brighter in contrast to the dull boxes as pets remind me of happiness.
I toned down the background colour a little with muted pinks so that it wouldn’t be fighting for attention with the elements.
Also, I created abit of emphasis on the elements by adding an outline to each object.
HUMAN BAKER

When it comes to baking there’s always dough however, I substituted it with human flesh to suit the theme. I love baking cookies, so I chose to make my font look like cookie cutters. I added the dough roller to emphasise on the baking as well.
When there’s human flesh, blood is always visable. So I created a mess full of blood stains and added some body parts to intensify the situation.

Bright colours were used to emphasise the absurdity. Mainly, the 3 primary colours were used. There is a contrast between these colours therefore they work well together in harmony and form a sense of unity. Compared to the others there is a lesser variation in colours as there are lesser elements, this is to prevent complication or a fight for attention within the artwork.
TETRIS GARDENER

The typeface itself inspired me to come up with this idea. However, I had a hard time deciding a job to incorporate on the typeface. Eventually, I went ahaead with a gardener as I could imagine vines growing and wrapped around the letters.
A tetris game includes the blocks and grids as their background, so I incorporate that same concept into my artwork.

A Tetris game involves the stacking of multiple blocks, therefore I stacked my letters accordingly to mimic the idea and create a sense of movement and pattern. This inspired me to add the plants as I could imagine it being wrapped around the typeface.
The plants were placed strategically to balance out the elements and form unity. I made use of the space and created a corner of a room to make the artwork more 3D and less flat. Falling flowers were added to created a sense of movement and rhythm as well.
SOUP CHEMIST

A variation of soup was added to spice up the artwork, such as pumpkin, mushroom and veggie soup. Along with pure water as it reminds me of any lab test. Not to forget the bubbles. I used the elements of a test tube, such as the glass material, water level markings, and other apparatus like the thermometer. To make it abit more bazaar i made the letters human sized, using a ladder.
And with any experiment, there will always be notes to take so i added a clipboard to further represent the job.

Bright colours were used to emphasise on the bazaar situation. The use of the variation in soup was for the colours they each represented. Although the colours of the soup are different, there is still a sense of unity as the letters themseleves are all made of glass material. The clipboard as part of the artwork background, helps to emphasise on the chemist job, using blue in contrast to the yellow background walls.
