"KALIYUGAM" is a thought-provoking short film that explores the concept of Kaliyuga in Hinduism, the fourth and worst of the four yugas. The film is a reflection of the current state of the world, where religion, truthfulness, cleanliness, tolerance, mercy, duration of life, physical strength, and memory are diminishing day by day due to the powerful influence of Kaliyuga.
The film follows the character Shaji, who is grappling with the effects of Kaliyuga. Through a phone conversation with his friend, we gain insight into Shaji's personality and behavior. As the story progresses, we witness Shaji's confession of his evil deeds in line with the happenings of Kaliyuga.
The film's open-ended climax connects Kaliyuga to the oblivion of all living creatures and hints at the possibility of an impending end to this age. Through its powerful audio and visual storytelling, "KALIYUGAM" leaves a lasting impact on the audience, making them ponder the implications of living in an age that is rapidly deteriorating.
