To Kill A Mockingbird Cover

One of my favorite projects I've ever had to make was to redesign a famous book and create a new cover for it. In my case I went with the classic, To Kill A Mockingbird. Below you'll see the initial design I went with and then the changes I made and why I made them.
Allow me to explain the design, the changes I made, and the symbolism that goes with them. The most prominent thing on screen is the mockingbird being stuck in the cage. This symbolizes that even though the mockingbird is supposed to be free, it was imprisoned, much like what happens in the story. The change in tree branch color is for to reasons, one being to keep the elements in nature the same (bird and tree branch) and to have the bottom branch to act as innocent blood going through the town, since the town is responsible for what happens to a certain man.
