"In The Grid" is a project that I completed for my publication design class. The objective of the project was to create a unique digital piece using the grid as a guideline, other than that we had total freedom in how to create our designs. The process began with a modular grid, which is made up of intersecting rows and columns that create modules. I then built upon it by using the modules to create a variety of shapes. For my subject matter, I selected nostalgic family photos that ranged from the 1950s-1990s. I played around with layering, colors, effects, and texture to create a final piece that highlights the history of my family. The entire process is depicted step-by-step below. 

My main takeaway from the project was learning about the power of the grid itself. It's a great tool for creating clean and interesting designs. I will be using the grid in upcoming projects and designs.
