PSA project against gun violence

The message I was trying to convey was a statement against gun violence in schools. To visually interpret this idea, I used elements one might normally see in a child's schoolwork, such as doodles and childish handwriting. In the way a school shooting might interrupt a child's life, I interrupted the work with the large hole with a gun visible through it. I used the stripes as both an element of emphasis and an element of color to draw the eye to the center. Subjectively. I think that the best part of my design is the integration of the center hole, due to the fact that it blends into the rest of the paper texture. The greatest challenge that I had was this piece was most definitely the blending of the hole texture into both the red stripes and paper texture, and even with lots of work there are still some sections that don't blend properly. If I were to attempt this project once again, I think I would try to aim for a less 'flat' poster, or something that conveys the message more clearly.
