Supervising Artist Teacher | Capstone Project

Working via email, I supervised a high school senior capstone project. Her project was research driven, personal and conceptual. Several emails conversations preceded her actual work in the studio leading to the final project.
*Completed installation of the fork, spoon and obese bodies stuffed with junk food, sodas, fast food wrappers.
Below images show process going back to our first email & conversation.
Packaged food on the scale.
Packaged food on the scale. Top view of installation.
The soft sculpture obese body, ingesting the junk food, fast food, sodas, etc related to the problem of obesity as researched and determined by the student.
Using aluminum foil to wrap the forms, keeping materials related to the forms and concepts.
New forms for the flatware. Our correspondence was directed specifically to this element at one point. I sent images and links referencing forms that the student could consider and would be possible for her to complete. Her solution was the 2x4 stems and foam insulation forms.
Working out ideas in soft sculpture.
The first image, considering creating the flatware with small wires, more intimate but lacking the scale and impact desired. There was no relationship to the subject.
