The old man and the sea

"The Old Man and the Sea" is a novel written by Ernest Hemingway and published in 1952. The book tells a story about an elderly fisherman named Santiago, who has gone 84 days without catching a fish. Despite his bad luck, Santiago is determined to prove his skill and regain his reputation. Setting out alone into Stream, Santiago hooks a giant marlin, the largest fish he has ever encountered. Santiago fights the fish for days and manages to harpoon the marlin, but the journey is not over. He ties the marlin to his boat and heads back to the shore. But sharks are attracted by the scent of blood and begin attacking the marlin. In the end, he returns to the shore with only the marlin's skeleton, exhausted but proud.
The reason why I chose the book is that this is the first novel written in English I have read, which left a deep impression on me. Also, the book is very famous, people are very familiar with the story. I found a lot of versions of this book online. Many of the covers are beautiful but I don't think this design has strong relationship with the theme of the book. If i had never read the book, I probably would think that the book is similar to Walden, which is mainly about the reflection of old man’s life with the sea. But "The Old Man and the Sea" is a tale of human strength, determination, and the ability to find meaning and purpose in the face of adversity. In this case, the book cover should show me the characteristics of the old man. For example, I want to use the picture of the old man fighting with marlin and sharks as a book cover.
