I Come with Respect is a manifesto and design intervention inspired by Spike Lee's now-viral rant against gentrification in Brooklyn. By repurposing his speech into a community manifesto and asking neighborhood newcomers and long-time residents alike to sign on and vow to “come with respect,” we hope to begin a conversation about how to keep a community from fracturing even as neighborhoods undergo rapid development and gentrification.
