Mercados de Verão & Festa da Flor

Context

Festa da Flor is an annual celebration that takes place in the town of Montijo, Portugal. The focus of the festival is floral decoration, but it extends to musical events, gastronomic experiences, and handicraft sales.

In 2021, due to the pandemic situation, Festa da Flor was adapted and other city events, such as the popular festivities, were cancelled. To make up for these changes, an adjacent event was added — Mercados de Verão (summer markets).

The markets were held right after Festa da Flor, in the same place, in a controlled space, with commercial stalls and a stage for musical events. The markets ran for four weekends, each edition focused on a theme - tourism, regional products and crafts, local commerce and a final event, dedicated to remembering the popular festivities of São Pedro.

Identity

To communicate these dates, which would be promoted simultaneously, I created a single identity that could
be adapted to both events.

In the identity of Festa da Flor it was mandatory to emphasize the Gerbera, the city's official flower.
For Mercados de Verão, the poster was chosen to reflect the variety of products that would be sold
at the markets. Both images sought to convey not only the relaxed and summery atmosphere that would
be experienced, but also give prominence to recognizable symbols and products of the region.
