In this brief we had to create a book cover with a supporting piece. I chose to create a cover for the hoobit and i also creted the text for the book cover (first one) in illustrator.

 

I decide to make my book cover a special edition as there are a lot of different designs and styles for The Hobbit so I wanted my book cover to be different and needed it to stand out from the other editions out there. I added an under cover for the book jacket because with most books which have jackets they normally have a plain black surface. If the user loses the jacket or if it gets ripped then the user might get rid of the jacket and it would leave the user with a cover which has no information on it and looks boring.
 

I also created the design for the book to be held in, this is a box shaped and look like a treasure chest as it goes with the theme of the book.

Final design with full jacket book cover, I changed the background to a simple style of two bold colours as I did not want the background to make the eye not to stand out so by having a simple background it causes the eye to stand out more and makes it the main focus.
