DREAM AND NIGHTMARE
For this project, I made a 2D motion graphics video that inspired from the chosen Haiku's poems: Jack Kerouac: Books Of Haikus. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro is the two main software for the project.
The story focuses on a person's dreams about his miserable life: his parent's divorce, getting criticised, and giving up his work. As things tended to get worse, a magical mirror appeared, opening to a brighter space: the beautiful nature scenery.
Based on Haiku’s poem, it is described as a beautiful autumn landscape in the bright midnight. However, from a different perspective, it is a metaphor for a person's dilemma and grief about their life. With the use of a muted tone, an intense gothic style, and visual metaphors based on 19th-century destroy objects with supernatural forces, the story gives a message: Among the difficulties of life, only hope and encouragement will survive.
