In collaboration with Limited Edish, a store specializing in limited runs of high-quality T-shirts and art prints, I created an illustration showcasing diverse African hairstyles found in barbershops. Inspired by barbershop catalogs and the hairstyles themselves, my goal was to capture the essence of African hair culture and celebrate its artistry.
The illustration features a vibrant catalog of African hairstyles, including intricate braids, bold fades, afros, and twists. Through meticulous attention to detail and a blend of traditional and contemporary art styles, I aimed to evoke appreciation for the cultural significance and sense of community found in African barbershops.

Limited Edish, owned by Russell Grant, bassist for the band Shortstraw and owner of The Bioscope Independent Cinema in Johannesburg, collaborates with artists and creatives from around the world to commission or license artworks. With their focus on limited runs and pre-order campaigns, Limited Edish ensures the involvement and blessings of the featured artists.

This project allowed me to explore and celebrate the world of African hairstyles and barbershop culture. Through the collaboration with Limited Edish, we aimed to inspire viewers to appreciate the beauty and significance of African hair culture, while showcasing the artistry and diversity found in barbershops.
