My inspiration for Sabrina Ratté 's series was Floralia. Floralia is a simulation prepared for 4 different seasons. The message of the study is that the plants that have gone extinct in the past are visualized with today's technology and preserved in a virtual archive room, protected from memories and time. But due to the interference caused by the memory emanating from the plants, the images occasionally shift and glitch, telling the traces of the past. I really liked it both visually and semantically so I wanted to try it with a plant that I found.

As for how I did my work, I wanted to use both digital and real scenes in my video. First of all, I tried to prepare an environment like Sabrina's simulation environment in 3D in Blender program. Just like hers, I designed a glass square to protect my plant and gave a pattern with abstract lines. I could have used larger plants like hers, but I used a single peony so we could see more of the details. As we saw the camera movements in the lesson, I used zoom in, static and so on, especially Arc by turning around the peony the most. The light in the square, which continues to flash until the end of the video, adds dynamism to the video. I used the turquoise led light frames that I used in the background as a reference to the leds in Sabrina's video. I tried to give the same vibe even though I couldn't find the same as her. In between, we can see the flower showing us its real-world image and fighting simulation. At the end of the video, the flower starts to fall into pieces by going into slow motion. And again, the image ends up distorted.

My own work and the work I take as an example actually follow the same line. I tried to give the same message as the artist I was inspired by, but in my video, the plant also shows us that past life and starting point in the real world within the simulation. Even if the flower is broken, we can keep the data by remaining organic thanks to the frame it is held in. Another difference may be that I used only one peony branch. I also used more real scenes. My biggest inspiration fort he project was the merging of nature and technology.
