Crackling + Melting Candle
My goal for this project was to create a 30 seconds animation that flows smoothly! Before this project I used after effects to just do the least video editing for my work. But for the love of video editing, I was very excited to start this project and gain the experience to use after effects for more than just mere editing!

I started off my project by sketching out my ideas:
After getting the basic idea of my animation, I then began to create vector assets for my after effects project!
After getting some feedback to make my candle and flames look better, I continued to work on my vector assets. And this is how my assets finally turned out to be, I made sure that I have them in different high level layers:
After getting my assets ready, I started to work on my animation in after effects! I played around with so many things on after effects, it was honestly fun yet stressful because my first draft was really big and it caused lot of trouble. Here is my animation draft:
I received feedback to give my melts some weight at the end, and to improve my fire animation. I worked on those things and made my final project better, and also added some additional animation to the flames shadow behind the flame and at the bottom on the candle too. In addition, for fun I also added a night village sound with dogs barking in the background to give a better feel to my animation! So here is my final project:
With lots of work and time into this project, I was able to create a 30 seconds animation that flows smoothly! The flames crackles perfectly and also the candle is melting with an ease! I hope you like it!
