Black and White Film: Subject matter is open, however, I would start with landscapes on good cloud days only. A Bluebird sky will turn out gray. Architecture and reflections are good options. Think back to your very first composition project and light and shadow project in Photo one. You really do need good light and shadow options so your contrast will be evident, otherwise you will end up with mid-tone grays.

This photo was part of my black and white film series, which was my first time every using black and white film. I took this photo at the entrance of the Pensicola Naval Aviation Museum in Florida. I thought that the statues were neat and would look awesome in the film and as I suspected, it did. I love how journalistic this photo turned out looking like it was something from a newspaper or something of the like. In this photo I did quite a bit of editing adjusting the levels, curves, brightness and contrast and also doing a dodge and burn to help the darks and lights pop.
