Design Bootcamp
Throughout Design Bootcamp, I learned how to apply design knowledge in real-world client projects. I created style frames and storyboards while immersing myself in typography, composition, and color theory lessons. This challenging and social environment helped me develop practical design skills.

Deliverables / Requirements:
4-6 Design Boards showing us the look and feel of the spot + a rough idea of the structure of the commercial.

"Designing began long before I even launched Illustrator or Photoshop. I delved into comprehending my client's identity and effectively capturing their desires. During that time, I immersed myself in Branding, Art Direction, Mood Boards, and honed my ideation skills. I also grasped the significance of research in nailing down the perfect style and vibe."
Tension, Balance and Visual Language
Project Overview:
12 Kilometers is a horror film directed by Mike Pecci. It was recently accepted into the Boston International Film Festival, which requires a theatrical trailer for the film. Mike has cut a trailer, but it needs to be spiced up with some Design. Specifically, the opening title card and end card need to be designed, and it would be great to have some kind of transition from GFX to footage and back.

Deliverables / Requirements:
4-6 Design Boards showing the design of the opening Title Card, the transition to footage, a couple of full-frame shots from the trailer, a transition frame, and the end card.
The end card must use the film’s logo (provided), and must feature “A Film by Mike Pecci” and the URL, 12kilometers.com

Additional Information:
• The film is a throwback to 1980’s horror movies like The Thing. It’s dark, creepy, and has an ominous tone throughout. The trailer GFX should reflect that.
• 12KM was shot 2K with anamorphic lenses. Graphics should be designed for a 2048x768 format.
• We loooooove the color-grade on the film, so don’t mess with colors (unless for a transition.)
"I began by refining my Photoshop skills, seamlessly infusing extensive textures and moods into my design boards. I delved into the realm of title design, mastering the art of element synchronization for a spine-chilling horror movie trailer. "

Tension, Balance and Visual Language II
Brand Overview
Everlearn.io is a startup devoted to educating the US public about the issues surrounding the way higher education is sold and delivered. The traditional four-year college is part of the bedrock of our society, however the enormous financial burden those institutions now place on their students can’t be ignored.
With the proliferation of high-end online alternatives to traditional education, everlearn.io wants to push the education conversation in a new direction: Towards what we call “The New Education,” a hybrid model of teaching that takes the advantages of online learning, peer-to-peer interaction, and instructor-provided feedback to create a unique and effective educational option for a fraction of the price of a traditional four-year degree.

Core Values:
• Technology can lower costs for education.
• Learning shouldn’t be a luxury.
• The best teaching should be amplified by the power of the Internet.

Brand Identity:
Brand Style
Our brand is modern, friendly, approachable, knowledgeable. Focus on our 4 core colors to guide you in your palette selection. We like to think of ourselves as a “softer, more rounded” brand. We’re not a tech company, though we deal heavily with cutting-edge software and e-learning solutions. We’re a public service, an information source for The New Education, and eventually an e-learning platform.

Style Reference
Everlearn.io :15 TV script
In 1960, the average college grad had $4000 in student debt.
Today, that number is 10X higher
with some owing more than $200,000.
We think learning shouldn’t be a luxury.

"The journey continued as I delved into advanced concepts like Balance, Tension, and Visual Language, expertly applying them while crafting an engaging explainer video for a novel brand."
Complex Boards
Project Overview:
IBM has been working on a concept called a SmartCity and would like to unveil it to the world. SmartCity is still under development, so instead of showing very specific things, we’d like to showcase some of the broader ideas encompassed by the project: Less traffic, affordable housing, lower energy costs. We’ve scripted out a :30 spot and would like the whole spot boarded out.

Deliverables / Requirements:
The entire spot must be boarded out and must go along with the script.
The spot should end with the SmartCity type featured along with the URL.

Additional Information:
• The demo is 18-65 M/F
• At the end of the spot we should direct folks to the url: : IBM.com/smartcity
• We really need to make this feel friendly... this technology could be seen as intrusive, so let’s use the design to help reinforce the idea that this is safe and to be used for good.
• Check out our brand guidelines and other work to stay on-brand.

Script
Today’s cities have populations they were not designed to support.
And this causes:
Grid-lock on the roads.
A lack of affordable housing.
And, high energy costs.
At IBM, we’re good at solving problems. So we came up with a solution.
Imagine...
Traffic lights that talk to cars and buses to optimize traffic.
Multi-use buildings designed to keep housing affordable.
An on-demand-grid intelligently providing power only when needed.
We’re working towards a safer, more efficient, more connected city.
A smarter city.

Final Touches
Script
The right song is powerful.
It excites you.
It transports you.
And it moves you…
in ways that images alone… just can’t.
We think that perfect song should be a pleasure to discover…
to sample…
and to use as the soundtrack to YOUR story.
We think THAT experience should be… well, Premium.
Because the RIGHT song makes all the difference.
"My final project was the ultimate test of my newly honed design skills. My mission was to transform the elements handed by the client, along with their style guide, into a series of meticulously crafted boards for a captivating :30 promotional spot highlighting their 'Premium' brand."
