Hello! A hearty welcome to my Surface Pattern Design project. When I feel quite satisfied with the overall motif arrangement of a pattern, for the next step I run it through a few color palettes. Here sharing the most compatible color variations – sorted out from the recoloring process. Compatible in that sense is as a whole, it reflects a cohesive look.
This project includes a Christmas-ish pattern (‘motifs in a bit more structured’ version 2). I have recycled the floral wreath motif here (from the pattern challenge). I have tried some layout options and saved 3 versions. The first twos are respectively in ‘Seamless Repeat Pattern 22’ and ‘Seamless Repeat Pattern 23’. I have also tried a lighter mesh background, on top of the solid background. I was looking for a texture like vibe which considering my first attempt at it, has turned out not bad!
Don’t get me wrong. I understand the purpose of setting patterns on product mock-ups for visualization. It certainly has its own place in presentation. However, I love seeing pattern as a single spread too. They are like open ended questions that triggers imagination. Not sure if it’s only me or there exist others who might find it interesting as well!
