3D Shen Long model rigged (animation)

A project that took more than a month to complete. 🐉
Modeling Shen Long's fan art is part of a dream I've had since I was little, to create artistic things related to what I like
Fully built in lowpoly! Which of course gave me more efficiency and speed for rigging.
The entire modeling process was meticulously done to capture every detail, from his scales to the inside of his mouth.
The scales, in particular, were created manually, where I used groups of scales, selected the scale for specific areas of the skin and applied. I needed to use images of iguanas at various angles to have a good reference of how their scales moved through their mouths
But my biggest difficulty in this project was, for sure, the rigging part. Because it is an unreal animal, I had endless mesh problems every time I tried to "bend" its body to animate it. I tried to use several rigging techniques even for a snake's skeleton, it helped me a lot to bend its body in the most organic way possible

I hope you enjoy every part of this project that was made with great care to represent my happy childhood watching the most amazing and inspiring drawings an artist could hope for.
