The spectacular Porsche Pavilion was completed in 2012 and is embedded in the park landscape in the Autostadt Wolfsburg / Germany.
The construction of the pavilion is based on the monocoque lightweight construction that is common in ship, aircraft and automobile construction. The material is steel. With this technology, the roof construction supports itself as a space-forming shell. It consists of 620 metal sheets blasted with stainless steel granules, which were welded to stiffening frames and transverse bulkheads in a shipyard in Stralsund and then assembled on site.
