As can be seen on the left, this photo appears to have been held in place - possibly in an album - with a piece of cellulose tape.  Also a part of its 100 years plus in existence had been spent in a frame set on a table in a window bay exposed to direct sunlight. As a consequence, it had become faded and dirty and had sustained minor damage.  My brief was to scan it to digital, clean it, repair the damage, restore as much detail as possible and return it to its owner as a black & white print on archive quality photographic matte paper.
