The reconquest of nature will allow the recovery of this sector through spaces and species that deepen the natural and urban dynamics.

The project at the conceptual level, generates a series of space and structures capable of housing and recovering biodiversity, adapting to the specific conditions of the San Juan de Dios Hospital Complex (HSJD) and its surroundings, impacting the territory.

By achieving cohesion in an area of the city currently fragmented by roads and the disorderly process of urbanization, the opportunity opens up to recover the cultural, ecological and landscape heritage.

Clean water is health, for our species and for many ecosystems. Water is part of the history of the territories and is one of their modeled agents. Remembering it and recovering it is our bet.

The water that heals and regenerates is the idea that articulates our proposal. To heal urban wounds, ecological amputations and their impacts on social health, both physical and mental.

The vegetation, associated with these new bodies of water and in collaboration with the existing one, will be responsible for defining the spaces that articulate both human and natural dynamics.

As an articulating element, it will allow the hospital complex to be integrated with the dynamics of the sector. What was once the southern limit of the city, has now become a new centrality, this new space for urban coexistence, will optimize the traffic of neighbors and hospital users, and at the same time, generate recreational activities

It is the fundamental element in the identity of this place, relevant for the history of Bogotá and for the Colombian architectural culture.

It is the tool that articulates the strategies of the proposal and that promotes a balance between historical values, natural and social potentialities and the viability and future functioning of a health infrastructure as complex as this one.
