Polaris Music Prize
is a not-for-profit organization that annually honours and rewards artists who produce Canadian music albums of distinction. A select panel of music critics judge and award the Prize without regard to musical genre or commercial popularity.

Each year 10 Canadian visual artists are commissioned to create a unique art-piece inspired by a Short Listed album that portray vivid new interpretations of their music, which are then developed into limited edition, silk-screened prints.

The limitations of the screen printing process required all artists to use 5 colours or less, and to be considerate of fine details, as they may be lost or misaligned in printing.
The prints were showcased at The Polaris Music Prize Gala at Massey Hall on September 19th, and participated in a travelling exhibition held in Calgary, Toronto, Halifax, and Montreal between September 1st and September 15th.
