This is the final project for the Design Sketching Course at Art Soup, Vietnam. The main theme of the project is European Medieval, and the final goal is to create 2 sketching versions of an animal: A civilian version, and a military one. Since I'm a cat person, so the little feline buddy is the obvious choice for me.
I started the project with the civilian version. First, I studied some items in the European medieval style. These items might be carried by the cat in the final version.
Next, I found some relevant references and create a moodboard of whatever I wanted to put in my final project. I also sketched the cat in 2-point perspective, using the draw-through method. And the final step is to put everything together and to refine my lines.
I used the same process for the military version, starting with some studies of some medieval items, mainly weapons.
And here comes the cat. I used the same cat, but flipped it horizontally with some minor changes.
That's it, that's my sketching workflow that I learned from Art Soup. Thank you for viewing my project, and I really appreciate constructive criticism.
