Atelier Community Theatre needed a poster and other advertising imagery for a double bill of Ionesco plays. Rather than taking a literal interpretation, I went with the spirit of the work, being surreal, absurdist and slightly threatening. An interview with Ionesco revealed that one of his great inspirations was the puppet show he saw as a child and this gave me the idea for a doll face - cold and stiff yet penetrating.
