Weston Co. Playing cards set

Weston Co. is a fictional project that focuses on a well-known Australian outdoor equipment retailer. In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the company came up with a unique concept of releasing a limited edition set of playing cards that would capture the splendour of the Australian outdoors and encourage people to explore it further. The card designs were meticulously crafted to cater to both adults and children, as family camping trips and outdoor activities are popular in Australia. To achieve this, I employed Adobe Illustrator to create digital graphics and abstract designs that were inspired by the native flora and fauna of the country. For instance, I used the Telopea flower, also known as the Waratah, which is iconic to New South Wales, for the Clubs. The Hearts were represented by the Dingo, a wild dog that is native to Australia. The Diamonds were designed to feature Uluru, a large sandstone rock formation located in the Northern Territory, and the Spades were represented by the Stingray, a marine creature that is common in Australian waters. Overall, the Weston Co. project is a tribute to the beauty of the Australian wilderness, bringing together art and nature in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and educational, inviting people to discover more about this fascinating country and its unique biodiversity.
