Poster design for violin day dedicated to Estonian violinist Eduard Sõrmus (July 9, 1878 — August 16, 1940) sometimes referred to as the Red Violinist.

 

Sõrmus became active in the Russian Revolutionary movement and eventually took part of the Russian Revolution. He was a labour activist and gave a number of charity concerts. Near Dresden, there is a children´s orphanage which was built with donation money collected during Sõrmus's concerts.
