CYNARA "Urban intervention. Bar - Cafeteria"

Cynara            Urban Intervention in the Plaza of the Constitution of Benicarlo.
Benicarló hosts a wealth of farms, both rainfed and irrigated agriculture, especially the production of the famed artichoke Benicarló (product name of European origin), citrus, vegetables and other products.
The artichoke (Cynara scolymus) is mainly cultivated in Mediterranean regions and in areas that enjoy a mild climate. Its use dates back over two thousand years.

These plants were already considered by the ancients as a significant food, and recommended especially with cilantro, wine, olive oil, etc. It is a large thistle as indicated by the Arabic roots of the name "splinter" of land. This large thistle appears on the shield of the town of Benicarlo, reflecting the importance that this product had, since ancient times in this area.
