The Sormovskaya metro station got its name from the Sormovsky district,
The Sormovskaya metro station got its name from the Sormovsky district,
one of the 8 districts of the city where the famous Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard is located.
In 1941, Rostislav Evgenievich Alekseev, a well-known designer of high-speed vessels, began his activity at the shipyard. Exploring the topic of increasing speed, he turned
to hydrofoils. And using his author’s own technology, he managed to increase the speed
of ships from 30 km / h to 110!
